Today I’m going to be talking about why SEO is important for your private clinic or for you as an independent practitioner.
Did you know that there are 7,000 health-related searches per minute? That means that there are a lot of opportunities for you to be found online offering your clinic services or treatments.
A whopping 55% of people in Europe have searched for health information online in just the last three months and an incredible 5% of all searches worldwide are related to health.
77% of people start their patient Journey with a search engine like Google or Bing or Yahoo so if you want to be found as soon as people start looking for your treatments and services then search is the best place to do that.
Sadly it’s not enough just to have a website. The higher you rank the more people click through to your website the number one result in search (and this is just for healthcare) gets about 25% of the traffic for that search. The number two position gets around 10%. The number three position gets around 4% to 5% and then slowly after that, it’s around 3%.
After page one of Google you can forget it. From page two onwards there is very little traffic coming through to your website if you rank lower than page two within the search engines.
Now what about ads I hear you say? It’s a really good point because a lot of platforms like Facebook for instance are completely beholden to advertisers now and you see a lot of adverts on there however on search when you type something into Google there are a lot fewer people clicking on those adverts which means there’s a bigopportunity for you to rank “organically” in other words not using an advert.
In fact recent studies from SEMRush have shown that about 45% of people will click on the organic rankings (that’s the non-paid listings) compared to just 2% which click on the advertisement part of the search results.
This isn’t to say that online search is absolutely perfect in fact 66% of people who search online for health queries find that the information is unreliable and one-third of people actually come away from their online searches feeling like they’re more confused than when they first started. So this gives you as a private clinic owner or practitioner an opportunity to educate people about their conditions before they come to you and that’s a really big opportunity right there.
That’s exactly where I come in because I help private clinics and independent practitioners like yourself rank higher on Google so you get more traffic through to your website. I also make sure that that traffic actually converts into more patients so that you can fill your booking calendar. I’m not a big agency so I don’t charge big agency fees and you can jump on my course which shows you how to do SEO for healthcare and that’s absolutely free.
